Tearing Down Walls

Though much hoped for, it was completely unexpected when, in late 1989, the Berlin Wall was torn down. That single event signaled the decline of communism world wide, the replacement of the Soviet regime in Russia, and the fracturing of the Soviet states. The world watched in rapt fascination as the people of these repressed states found the joy their new freedom gave them. Images were broadcast everywhere of the people, families and friends, young and old, climbing past the broken wall into a future where it would never darken their lives again.

That same year, Harvest House published the first edition of Classic Christianity. Though it lacked the immediate clout and attention which the fall of the Iron Curtain gained, none the less, it was just as significant to weary Christians living behind the walls of legalism. Bob George did something relatively unique with his book – he made it personal taking you on the journey that tore down his wall of legalism and led him into new joy and freedom. It has helped Christians tear down the walls of legalism besieging their faith, bringing them the joy and peace which God intended for them.

Our friend Roddy, from the United Kingdom told us this,

"Bob George's book, Classic Christianity, has been an answer to the cry of my heart, delivering me from fear of the judgment of God, healing my broken heart over my past failures, causing me to fall in love with Jesus again, giving me a thankful heart for His grace, and giving me hope for the future. I am addicted to the message of grace and want to learn all I can about it!"

That is what Classic has done on the forefront of the movement away from legalism. It has helped over 600,000 people around the world tear down the walls confining them, and will continue to do so in the lives of others. You can help tear down walls by sharing the Classic message with those around you.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that Classic Christianity represents the purest presentation of the gospel message I have ever read.”
